How to Apply for Visa

You can now apply for an Online Visa to visit the United Republic of Tanzania (both Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar). You are required to fill in the online form, make payment, and submit your application online. Your form will be internally reviewed and processed.

Applicants will be notified through their e-mails whether their applications have been accepted or rejected. They may also TRACK their application statuses through the online system. Applicants may as well be required to visit the nearest Tanzanian Embassies or Consular Offices for interviews.

To apply for an eVisa online, follow the following step-by-step guide:

  1. Visit visa.immigration.go.tz and create an account.
  2. Click on Apply for a New Visa.
  3. Fill in the visa application form.
  4. Pay using a Visa Card, Mastercard, and other debit or credit cards.
  5. Await approval, then download and print the eVisa from your eVisa account.
Sign in to your Evisa account, to download and print your visa. The Evisa printout is also sent to the email address used to create the online Visa account.

VISA APPLICATION GUIDELINES

  • There are two options to obtain Tanzania Visa. These are Online Visa Platform and On-Arrival Visa Platform.This means, after introduction of Online Visa System, Visa are no longer issued at the Embassies;
  • The On-Arrival Visa facility may only be used by applicants whose nationalities do not fall under Referral Visa category. Despite having the On Arrival Visa facility, it is recommended for all applicants to use online Visa platform;
  • Applicants who wish to use on arrival Visa facility are required to countercheck If their nationalities are not in the list of countries which fall under Referral Visacategory;
  • Applicants of Online Visa are strongly advised to read carefully the Visa Guidelines before making an application;
  • Online Visa applicants are advised to make their applications through the Official Tanzania Immigration website (www.immigration.go.tz) ONLY or directly through the link: visa.immigration.go.tz and Not through any other links;
  • Any applicant of Visa is assumed to have read, understood and agreed to the Terms and Conditions available on the Visa Portal and stipulated in the Declaration;
  • Applicants must ensure that their passports have a validity of at least six months and at least one unused visa page before submitting their application;
  • Applicant is expected to apply for a right category of visa. If the applicant is not sure about the type of visa he/she requires, he/she is advised to seek guidance through the e-mail: info@immigration.go.tz

Covid-19

All travelers arriving in Tanzania through any point of entry shall no longer be required to show proof of either the COVID-19 vaccination; or a pre-departure COVID-19 test.

Yellow Fever

All travelers arriving in Tanzania from countries where yellow fever is endemic should present a valid yellow fever certificate at the point of entry.
