The Global Logistics Convention (GLC)

The Global Logistics Convention (GLC) is an annual freight logistics event of the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations (FEAFFA). The Convention was held successfully first in Tanzania in the year 2017, in Kampala, Uganda in 2018, and in Kigali, Rwanda in 2019.

The recent outbreak of the Coronavirus however greatly affected all activities including the GLC which was put on hold. However, now that activities have resumed the GLC is planned to take place from 22nd to 24th November 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The summit is hosted by FEAFFA and its members in the respective East African Partner States. This year the summit will be organized by the Kenya International Freight and Warehousing Association (KIFWA) in partnership with FEAFFA and various Kenya Government agencies and other Private Sector organizations. The theme of the convention – Connecting Continents: Strengthening Global Supply Chains, aptly captures the mood.

The Global Logistics Convention is envisioned as a premier international gathering that brings together over 1,000 delegates in the transport and logistics industry, experts, policymakers, regulatory authorities, port authorities, researchers, and industry stakeholders from across the globe to share their experiences and discuss, explore, and collaborate on the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in logistics and supply chain management. The upcoming convention aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and partnerships that will drive the logistics industry forward into the future.

The Convention is also an opportunity for freight logistics professionals in the EAC region to interact with their counterparts from advanced economies and begin positioning themselves for future challenges and opportunities in the sector as the regional economy continues to grow.
